your heart is a tiny ladder. i was awakened this morning to the
sound of the trees growing in the backyard. it was afternoon but
outside it was still dark and there were sea waves crashing against
my bedroom window. sometimes you wake up and everything
makes sense, sometimes you wake up and the typewriter keys are
stuck to the paper and you realise that trees growing don't make a
sound at all.
